- XPENG, a newly launched Chinese EV brand to the UK, has chosen Ohme as its official home charging partner.
- The partnership will simplify the EV ownership process for new XPENG buyers, allowing buyers to directly purchase a home EV charger along with the required installation services through XPENG UK’s own retailers.
- Using an Ohme smart charger with the XPENG, along with a dynamic EV tariff, could make recharges cost less than £7.
XPENG and Ohme team up for home EV charging offer
As XPENG makes its UK electric vehicle debut, it has chosen Ohme as its exclusive home EV charging partner, allowing its customers to easily opt for an Ohme smart home charger with the purchase of their new XPENG.
Ohme’s smart chargers can be linked with a dynamic energy tariff, allowing home EV charging to take place at a fraction of the cost of filling up an ICE car with petrol or diesel. Using it in conjunction with Octopus Energy’s Intelligent Octopus Go tariff, for instance, could allow a 0-100% recharge to cost just £6.13 on the XPENG G6 Long Range’s 87.5kWh battery – allowing for a drivable range of around 354 miles. Furthering the cost-saving measure of a smart home charger, UK customers purchasing the new XPENG G6 Long Range will also be eligible for a complimentary Ohme home charger, with the offer running until the end of September.
The XPENG G6 is the first electric model to be released by the brand in the UK, and is set to rival one of the best-selling EVs on the market, the Tesla Model Y. The G6 Standard Range starts at £39,990, while the G6 Long Range costs £44,990 – exactly the same as the price of a base Model Y, but with a higher range. Combine it with that offer of a free Ohme charger on the G6 Long Range until September, and it looks to be an even more tempting offer over the Model Y.
