Fellten and Cybrand partner to make off-grid EV charging a reality

  • UK retrofit emissions specialist Cybrand has teamed up with EV technology and systems manufacturer Fellten to launch a new mobile EV charging solution, called the Charge Qube.
  • The product marks a major leap forward in flexible, off-grid power, further widening the use case for electric vehicles.
  • Built using second-life EV batteries, and housed inside a 10-foot container, the Charge Qube can be rapidly deployed in any environment.

Bringing remote EV charging to off-grid locations

The solution has combined Cybrand’s expertise in emissions reductions with Fellten’s battery systems expertise (That’s the same Fellten who retrofit fully-electric powertrains into classic cars), to create the Charge Qube. With the system able to be charged up ahead of deployment, it serves as a useful piece of zero-emissions infrastructure for use in numerous industries, including transport, logistics, and construction. The Charge Qube can also be used for businesses hoping to reduce their use of diesel generators, as a direct alternative.

Offering up both Type-2 AC and CCS rapid charging, the use case when it comes to EVs are endless: from powering electric vans on remote construction sites, to supporting the use of EVs at festivals. A single unit can store up to 450kWh worth of power, whilst additional units can also be linked to expand capacity. For those areas where grid constraints are a hindrance to EV adoption, the Charge Qube could also serve as a crucial tool.

Outside of EV charging, it can also be used for general energy demands. Much like more permanent battery storage solutions, the Charge Qube can be integrated into the grid, allowing it to charge up during times of lower demand and give back to the grid during higher periods of demand.

Jerry Darlington, Managing Director at Cybrand, commented:

“Partnering with Fellten empowers us to expand our impact. Together, we offer a unique, integrative solution that not only enhances energy flexibility and grid resilience but also delivers substantial environmental benefits.”

Chris Hazell, CEO at Fellten, added:

“Cybrand clients are under pressure to cut emissions, improve efficiency and stay ahead of legislation. Charge Qube ticks all three boxes. This partnership lets us offer a future-ready solution—one that turns clean energy from a challenge into a competitive advantage.”
