EV Edison launches largest EV charging hub on the U.S. East Coast

  • American EV infrastructure company, EV Edison, has launched its flagship EV charging hub in New Jersey.
  • The hub is strategically located in the town of Kearney, located close to heavy traffic locations such as interstates, the Port of Newark, and the New York City-linking Holland Tunnel.
  • Phase one of the hub includes 30 high-power chargers each capable of delivering 180kW worth of power, which already makes it the most significant single piece of charging infrastructure on the U.S East Coast.

The U.S. East Coast receives its largest EV charging hub yet

Beyond the 30 high-power public chargers already installed, EV Edison has plans to expand the site’s capacity even further in the future. Other facilities on the site include 24/7 security, truck parking, food and drinks facilities, flexible office space, and a driver’s lounge. The hub’s installation also comes ahead of what will soon be a busier time for roads around the area, with the 2026 FIFA World Cup fast approaching. EV Edison’s new hub will play a key role in providing for travelling fans and logistics personnel who are using electric vehicles.

Whilst recent policy changes in the U.S. have largely been seen as anti-EV, it’s clear that car manufacturers and charging providers alike are still remaining committed to electrification despite this – and EV Edison’s new hub serves as one of the clearest examples of that this month.

Dr. Shihab Kuran, Executive Chairman of EV Edison, commented:

“This facility is about more than charging—it’s about enabling next-generation logistics. We’re addressing the full operational needs of electrified fleets with scalable, high-power infrastructure that’s built to last.”

This new hub won’t only be an important asset for drivers of electric passenger cars, but for logistical purposes too. The new site is already helping to power operations for Einride, who are launching electric and autonomous transport across the United States and beyond, with Einride vehicles being based at the site.

Chelsea Thompson, Director of Operations at Einride, added:

“This facility gives us a strategic base to grow our electric fleet in the Northeast. EV Edison’s infrastructure, location, and operational services make it a natural partner as we expand access to clean freight solutions.”
